The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary is an all volunteer run foundation.
 
You can enrich your life and the lives of animals by volunteering your help at the Sanctuary. No one is too old or too young. We have volunteers from 8 to 80+ years young.

Areas to Volunteer
Animal Care Giver

As an Animal Caregiver at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Reptiles, Exotic Birds, Monkeys, Great Apes, and other animals residing at the Sanctuary.

 As an animal caregiver, you will clean enclosures, feed the animals, enrich the animal’s lives, and complete other task as described throughout the training process. 

Animal Caregivers are required to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per week. 
Docent
As a Docent at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary you will greet guest and provide them with an educational tour of the Sanctuary. 

Docents are needed Thursday through Sunday from 10AM to 4PM. Please complete the volunteer application on this page and bring to the Sanctuary.
Office Clerk
As an Office Clerk at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary you would work inside the office answering phone calls, organizing paperwork, working on the computer, and other projects that need to be completed in the office.
There are many different areas and opportunities to volunteer at the sanctuary!
Special Volunteer Programs
Bright Futures
Community Service
As a Bright Futures volunteer at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary you have the opportunity to complete the minimum of 75 hours required for the scholarship. Although Bright Future volunteers cannot work directly with the animals, work such as food preparation, trash, gardening, front gate, and other areas of the Sanctuary can always use the help by the Bright Future volunteers. Please complete the volunteer application and bring to the Sanctuary.
As a Community Service worker at the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary you have the opportunity to complete court ordered community service hours. Although Community Service workers cannot work directly with the animals, work such as food preparation, trash, gardening, front gate, and other areas of the Sanctuary can always use the help by the Community Service workers. There is a $25 application fee for all community service workers that can be waived by working an additional 5 hours at the Sanctuary. Please complete the community service application below and bring to the Sanctuary.

Adult Volunteer Coordinator
Responsible for maintaining all volunteer coordination activities, Scheduling of volunteers for special events, Keeping track of all calendar events and providing volunteer support, Communicating with volunteers about specific duties and schedule times, Following up on submissions of volunteer forms, Contacting and scheduling interviews and Maintenance of volunteer records.
