habitats, at differing heights.
Diet:
The guenon diet consists
of mainly fruit, with some leaves, flowers, and animal prey,
depending on the season. They help to regenerate the forest by
seed dispersal.
Social Behavior:
Guenon societies are
matrilineal, organized around a core of females that never
leave their birth group and defend their territory together.
Females are the stable backbone of the groups
Interesting Facts:
Buddy was a pet monkey raised in a home with a human family.
In order to protect themselves, from bites, his previous
owners had most of his front teeth extracted- only leaving a
few in the back so he could chew his food. Buddy' s ability to
remain calm under active situations has helped him
become an animal actor in the TV series Second Noah in
1996.
